Hello,
The GO tent will be waterproof (PU waterproof coating), and it's made of 210 denier ripstop polyester (body) and 210 denier oxford nylon (floor) and with that, the PU waterproof rating of the material will be 1200 mm water column.
If your tent windows have delaminated or fallen out, here are a few tips for a temporary fix so you can keep using your GO:
- Tent Mesh Repairs:The SylvanSport Tenacious Tent Repair Kit offers self-adhesive mesh patches for quick field repairs. However, these patches are designed for mesh and tent fabric, not for transparent windows.
- Transparent Window Repairs: The repair kit does not include patches for transparent windows. Using a polyester shower curtain liner as a temporary patch is a creative idea! If you go this route, make sure the area is clean and dry before gluing the patch. Cutting the patch with rounded edges can help prevent peeling. Just remember, this will be a short-term solution and may not be as durable as the original material.
- Delamination Care: If you notice your tent fabric becoming sticky, flaky, or leaky, this is a sign the urethane coating is breaking down. You can remove the old coating by soaking the tent in cool water with unscented laundry detergent (adding a small amount of ammonia can help). For stubborn spots, use rubbing alcohol. Once cleaned and dried, you can reapply waterproofing products like Tent Sure™ on the inside and Revivex® on the outside for added protection. It’s also a good time to reseal the seams if needed.
